I have never insured my pet before. Why do I need to?

a shock. Veterinary charges for treating a broken leg for example could come to €1500. By
insuring your pet you ensure that he need not suffer simply due to price
Why Vetplan and not another insurance provider for your pet ?
Vetplan is designed to provide you with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that in the
event of your pet becoming seriously ill, or being involved in a serious accident, that you can
afford to have your pet treated rather than considering the terrible alternative of having your
pet "put to sleep". Vetplan is not designed to treat your pet for simple illnesses such as “coughs and colds”.
What is the minimum and maximum age of a pet you will insure?
You can buy an insurance policy for your dog or cat if the animal is aged between eight weeks and nine years. If your pet has been insured with us for a minimum of three consecutive years before his ninth birthday, then we will continue to insure your pet after the age of nine for the rest of its life. Note that once your pet has passed the age of nine years benefits could be reduced and premiums could rise.
What if my pet is ill before the insurance starts?
We are unable to cover any condition that is pre-existing or for any illness or disease that
occurs during the first 21 days of your insurance cover.
A pre-existing condition is one which occurred or existed in any form, prior to the start date of your insurance policy. Such conditions will be subject to a two year moratorium. This means that once your pet has had no re-occurrence of the pre existing condition during a two year period, he will be covered under the terms of your Vetplan.
