How it works

Unlike other Pet Medical Policies we do not differentiate between different types of Cats and Dogs. Nor do we refuse to insure animals who are aged over five. We take a global view based upon twenty years of Pet Insurance experience. We offer the amount of cover that actually means something, after all many policies offer cover only to €2,500, which in view of the cost of some procedures, means that you the owner, could still be faced with an agonizing decision.

Vetplan offers you the highest level of cover available anywhere in France, ensuring that your Pet will receive the care he needs when he needs it.

24 hours after you have completed the on line application form and your payment has been processed, then your pet is covered against any medical bills that arise from an accident. Other medical bills that arise from illness are covered 21 days after your application is received and your payment processed.

In the event that your pet needs medical treatment you do not need any pre authorisations, with only one simple form to fill in. You simply get the treatment needed for your pet and then send us your paid receipt, along with the detailed bill from your Vet, as well as the bills for any medication that the vet has prescribed. We pay you within 24 hours of your claim being processed.

If you have to make a claim on your policy you are required to pay the first 75€ of any claim. This means that we can offer you the REAL protection you need for when your pet needs comprehensive medical care. We offer Excess protection cover at the rate of 15,00€ per year per pet insured. This cover gives you Excess protection valued at 150,00€ per year split into two amounts of 75,00€ each. In effect allowing you two claims per year under this option.

This means that whenever you make a claim in excess of 75,00€ you will be reimbursed all of the veterinary fees, PLUS your excess of 75,00. Note: If your claim is for under 75,00€ you will not be entitled to any refund, under your Vetplan policy.
